He will want to forget last year, but he should be able to earn his paycheck in Pittsburgh.

Last year was awful, but the year before showed he could play.

Never gonna meet his 4OA pedigree; but, there is not such thing as a bad league-minimum contract.

if he could ever learn how to play hockey this would be worth it.

Never seen someone get so far skating east and west.

2 years at close to league min, NHL experience. I don't see how this could turn out bad (with the exception of contract limit)

Good deal, they can bury it if needed or he works out and Dubas looks like a genius

Puljujarvi may never be the player we expected him to be, but if can can be a ~10 goal ~30 point guy for the Pens, this is an excellent signing. I hope the Bison King finds his footing in Pittsburgh (ala Val Nichushkin), but I have a hard time believing it'll work seeing as though this experiment failed miserably in Carolina, which was a much better situation for JP.

Great signing all in all, even if he sucks its only 800k. I think he's going to be great for the Pens though, he's such a toolsy player and has got a lot to give.

Dubas overpaying on another AHLer 😂

As opposed to what your gm is paying klingberg ? Who is so bad the leafs had to hide him on ltir ?
Or what about the horrific contract he gave reaves ?
How about samsonov??
Your sad obsession with trashing dubas is truly hilarious when you take into account how horrible the leafs new gm is 😂

I don't see him being able to help Pittsburgh (They need offense, not more defense), but the contract is great value for what he provides.

Dude hates Dubas so much he’s calling an 800k contract an overpay

Meanwhile Treliving has overpaid Reaves (an actual AHL level player who’s 37 with bum knees and got 3 years), Klingberg, Kampf, Samsonov, Bertuzzi, Huberdeau, Troy Brouwer, and James Neal, just to name a few

We all know the potential. I know it's silly to talk about potential with a 25-year old but those hands haven't gone anywhere. It's between his ears. If Pittsburgh can solve that puzzle, in which others have failed before, the rewards are obvious. Such a frustrating player but I'd be happy to see him succeed.
