But yes, Leafs would flip the CBJ to Ottawa for Korpisalo, Bos 1st, Ott 1st(7OA). I just don't see CBJ going for Marner. I think they need the foundation before taking on expensive players.

That ship sailed after we signed/traded for Gaudreau and Laine. Marner is redundant as long as they're both here, and he doesn't fit the timeline. It's nonsensical. The GM that sent him an offer sheet isn't even here anymore.

Neither Jiricek or 4OA is even remotely available for a Marner trade. If you want one or more of those pieces (or Werenski or Fantilli), be prepared to send us Matthews.

I would argue instead that we have no interest in Marner at the prices being offered, nor do we have interest in him so long as Laine and/or Gaudreau are Blue Jackets. And if he doesn't have interest in us obviously that's a nonstarter as well. So it's possible to come up with Marner-to-CBJ proposals that would work, but they're not going to make many Leafs fans happy.
