Even so he’s 34, and signed for 3 more years. That’s a lot of money and term for a number 3 guy imo. Good, but contract makes me wary.

Non playoff teams aren't going to give so many futures for Petry. Petry isn't playing like a 6m player right now. Can't see him being traded this season.

2 points in 27 games is killing his value. You’re better off waiting for next season.

NSH isn't a team who'd be interested in adding a defenceman (other than maybe a 3rd pairing upgrade), but I can't see anyone paying these kinds of prices for a 34 yr old with that kind of cap hit and term, who's fallen off a cliff like Petry has.

Columbus declines easily. They want to get younger, not older.

Columbus has zero interest in petry. Like negative interest, we’d be trying to trade him too.

Having traded away their first-round pick last year (and their second-round pick this year), I can't see the Vancouver brain trust trading away their first-round pick in this year's draft.

Jeff Petry doesn't have positive value at the moment. He'd have to turn his game around SIGNIFICANTLY for a team to want to acquire him

Any GM making one of these proposals should be fired on the spot.

Petty has the exact same value as he did last year. And the year before that. He has played injured in every game this year. His contract is a steal when he is playing healthy. His value is exactly what is described in the details. That is his actual nhl value not perceived value by fans of other teams. If I was Montreal I definetly keep him because he and Edmundston were as good a pair as any defense pair in the nhl last year and will be again next year I think edmundstons finished first or pretty darn close to it in plus minus last year they shut down everybody’s best players. Haters going to hate though try to drive value down because he started the year injured

Petrys best year was just last year he has gotten better every year. He was injured to start this season and still is. He will be as good as last year til he is about 36. He is a fitness freak in amazing shape very similar to letang

Myers > Petry

Last year pretty much every Canucks fan had him as a cap dump. Maybe he's better this year, but a player's status doesn't change that significantly within 30 games.
I'm not seeing Habs fans calling Petry a cap dump this year, and he had a career season last year. Again, status doesn't change that significantly within 30 games.

Player value fluctuates all the time, but it takes a while for it to completely flip.

Canucks have no interest in Petry and they don't see Myers as a negative asset while they probably view Petry as one. Nobody is saying Myers trade value is particularly high, I don't think it ever will be, but he is certainly no longer a negative asset for Vancouver

I can't see any team willing to give up that kind of assets for a 34 year old dman having a particularly bad year. Maybe if he can bounce back next season someone will trade for him. Nashville isn't the right team for him either way.

One thing I can't understand is, if Petry is injured why is he playing? Montreal isn't going anywhere this season so why play through an injury and possibly make things worse?
