isles decline, they’d want connor or ehlers in exchange for pulock, not scheifele

Demelo wouldn’t fetch that. He’s the same d man now as he was when he fetched a 3rd rounder, and not to mention Toronto really doesn’t need another bottom 4 RHD considering they have Lily, Holl, Brodie, and Lyubushkin if he resigns

Mike Reilly, Marcus Pettersson or Nate Schmidt i'd take any one of them for a 3rd rounder.

Islanders would want a winger back for Pulock. Adding Scheifele pushes one of him/Barzal/Brock Nelson/JG Pageau out of position. If you're looking for Pulock, the ask is going to be Ehlers or Connor, figure out the margins later.

Both Pulock & Noah Dobson are basically untouchable though - Dobson for being young & cost-controlled, and Pulock more because I'd be surprised to see Lou Lamoriello sign a guy to a big extension and then trade him before it kicks in. That being said, Pulock is probably the "more available" of the two.

You put Scheifele on Barzal's wing and then that way you have some center depth in case of injury to Barzal or Nelson.

Islanders should not be subtracting from their already pretty thin dcore again to add another center

So, exactly what I said - the trade would be the Islanders trading their top RD for a center and then playing him off position. A more realistic situation would be getting one of Connor or Ehlers in a deal centered around Pulock.

But at the end of the day, this is the correct thought. He just signed an extension that hasn't even kicked in yet; I'd be shocked to see Lou move him for anything short of a no-doubt superstar.

Not true at all, Islanders definitely have use for Scheifele.

Our centers are Barzal/Nelson/Pageau/Cizikas. None of them can play wing. Scheifele can't play wing.

Scheifele can play wing, Scheifele on Barzal's wing would be sick.

A team that can't score if their life depended on it always has a need for guys that can, especially ones at a PPG pace.

According to the Islanders fans on here he's untouchable, basically both Pulock and Dobson are untouchable.
