not if its controlled by the league. theres been way too much league/ref intervention hate to say it but is tampa even here if they dont give tampa a pp for the "high stick" vs toronto? I want pure hockey to be evenly called. idc if its home or road. you cant tell me that game last night was evenly called.

There's no conspiracy at hand my friend. The refs are human: they're going to miss things. Everything just seems exacerbated because the league insists on changing the rules during the postseason and we put the officiating under a lens for that exact same reason.

Quite frankly I'm fine with the stripes having a bad night - whether or not it was intentional - and the Lightning getting back into this series. Blowouts are boring.

theres a difference between "having a bad night" and straight up allowing one side to go nuts targeting/head hunting with no calls. makar gets boarded right in front of the refs last night with no call. The league wants a longer series, longer series, longer revenue streams, better for league... trust me i get it. Better for the brand if it goes 6 or 7 instead of 4. but games like last night just make you question the integrity of the league. they handicapped the aves from the beginning.

avs just need to shake off that loss. tampa is a very beatable team. stick with the game plan and maybe get lucky if kadri and bura are back in the lineup next game.

I mean, it’s not like the Avs were totally innocent either. Literally 4 Lightning players got injured last night and I don’t think a penalty was called on any of those plays lol. Refs always suck but they’re not biased and not trying to make one side win to extend the series

4? i know of paul (clean hit) and kucherov (he literally boards someone down the other end of the ice, crosschecks toews and then gets crosschecked by toews (called a penalty). kucherov lost the puck and tried to reach for it and changed his position, if you watch the entire sequence there kucherov shouldnt have been on the ice after the 2 penalties he gets away with. he is one of the dirtiest players that just never gets called.

First of all, sorry for 4 posts in a row, catching up.

Secondly: While I'm obviously biased, it drives me crazy hearing those who say "the refs gave the Lightning that game." The Lightning didn't win that game because of the refs. They won it because they were the better team for much of the game. Avs made multiple defensive miscues+Kuemper had a bad night, and the Lightning took advantage. Were the refs good? No, they definitely were not. But they didn't "handicap" the Avs. Their own defensive mistakes (Toews' in particular) and Kuemper's shakiness did.

Also, yes, Kuch is a Grade-A pest. If I wasn't a Lightning fan, I'd hate him (I imagine Bruins fans feel the same way with Marchand). No, he doesn't "always get away with it/never gets called"-trust me, as a Lightning fan, he gets called CONSTANTLY for boneheaded penalties which he takes whenever he's frustrated. Yes, he should've been penalized before Toews cross-checked him in this specific case, but don't tell me that that cost the Avs the game-it was all but over at that point.
