I’m a nill supporter. The problem with the suter signing was the term. If it was for 2 years it would have been a lot better. He resigned denis g and gave him a prove it deal so he does the right things

Yeah I can't fault him, he's done OK.

Still, quite often the problem with the contracts he's given out has not been the money, but it's term. And this is especially the case when he signs vets.

Yes

Now there some issues to that

Dubas stood firm with his offer to Sandin and won so if we apply that Jim Nill would then replicate that

Should be more like the modern GM of today

Give the Kid what hes worth

He's had his mishaps but imo under his tenure Leafs have become a significantly better team than any other Leafs GM basically throughout the 12 years I've followed hockey have been able to build out.

At least they've taken steps forward. They're basically a lock for playoffs every year now with that core. Which is what I meant by becoming a significantly better team.

Playoff success is a fickle thing.

If I’m Ottawa and San Jose…
Im trading Brannstrom and Merkley as soon as possible; each involved in the best packages we can find.

They just aren’t going to land on their feet with either team and some GM’s going to buy into the talent they constantly show. Their flaws are things that are correctable unless it’s just a mental wall they’ll never defeat and fail to have a career.

Move on from the asset sooner rather then too late.

Gotta be because of the troll under the bridge statue in Seattle, right? Otherwise I don't know wtf they're going for here.

Add P.O. Joseph (Pitt), Jakub Zboril (Bos), Mattias Norlinder (Mon), Victor Söderström (Az), Josh Mahura (Ana) and they should just throw names in a hat and redraw to see if any of them can use new surroundings for a re-boot.
