Any good head coaches available?

Spencer Carbery coming back to Washington could be a good fit, given he was in Hershey until 2021.

NMC so it isn't happening, but somebody would.
You'd have to have the cap space, be in your contention window, and willing to deal with the potential of the tail end of the contract being bad.
All things which are possible, it just limits potential destinations.

Huberdeau has produced well on both good and bad Florida iterations. He should still be able to do so for at least a few years. It just isn't working out in Calgary for whatever reason. He may just be a square peg in a round hole under Sutter.

Huberdeau has a Modified NTC, not a NMC. He can be put on waivers. I can’t think of one team that would do it, that contract is going to be an albatross.

Huberdeau used to be a star, his age is why teams won’t do it. He turns 30 in a few months and is his contract starting next season pays him like he’s a top 5 forward in the league

My point that expensive contracts don't have much value. How many teams could actually afford him?

It depends on the player. If Tkachuk or Barkov were made available , multiple teams would do whatever they can to move out contracts and give up the necessary picks/prospects to acquire them. Huberdeau is still a good player, but his age/level of play wouldn’t be worth picking up his contract for the next 8 seasons.

Oops, my bad. I was thinking of his extension.

in other words, if you're a Caps fan? no, no good head coaches available.

Guess that's fair, guess I'll change it to players in UFA years aren't worth much unless it's the offseason where they're worth a boatload for some reason. If a GM realized buy low in the season and sell high in the offseason actually works, they were be very rich in assets.

Ducharme wouldn’t be a good head coach, he’s just not built for it

Trotz wants to coach an O6 team though so Boudreau would be the guy for everyone else

Andrew Brunette might've kicked that can down the road a year - I can't see a team hiring him this offseason with a pending DUI charge

I feel CGY's struggles and Huberdeau just looking lost are because Sutter just aint the right guy for the Flames

Seems there is a divide and hes not the solution

Dont want him to come back nor do I feel he should be allowed back but Quinville would probs be the perfect replacement

Fully normal, system coaches like Sutter are good for a small while and then it falls off, happens every time, whether it's Torts, Trotz, Boudreau, etc

He's finished after this season. Huberdeau isn't going anywhere and it's obvious that the two of them won't thrive together.
