Did the Devils trade for Timo Meier?

Yes. And Scott Harrington.

(Who we gave up is still a mystery).

Timo Meier isn't real, this has all been an elaborate social experiment.

Meier deets dragging out like this really got the forum to discuss the intricacies of the English grammar tf man

Maybe the lesson is we shouldn’t pay attention to reporters with their Venmo handle in their bio.

Any prediction on who we are parting with?

One reason this likely taking so long is it’s a weekend and the staff is probably not a full staff, especially since it’s been a busy week. Just a guess.

From the leagues perspective, an additional hour or two for public details isn’t super critical. (From our perspective it is of course)

Edit: it isn’t just a weekend, it’s after business hours. Pretty safe bet that the various agent, gm, and league offices aren’t full right now. Some poor junior dude has to call his boss nonstop to clarify stuff and whatnot.

Mukhammadulin and the 2023 1st rd pick seem among of the likeliest pieces to me.
But I think the Devils are giving up at least one more asset as well.

Mukhamadullin, Bahl, 1st, conditional 2nd for Meier, Harrington is my guess.

That would be terrible for SJ

I hope it's Hughes. Loved Jeannot last year. He seems to love buying low

Lou is going to give his 2024 1st. Jeannot is extremely overrated

I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but Kent Hughes flipped Shea Weber's retirement in exchange for Denis Gurianov ( who I really like, I think he CAN be the next Nichushkin )
That's amazing asset management

I'm hoping all the best for Denis. Hope he can turn his career in Montreal.

Things just didn't work out in Dallas, and for the past year he's been a liability on ice.

I mean, he's in a stress free situation now, per se, as we're not trying to win, so now, he should just focus on himself. Which is what works generally for a big guy like him.

Something tells me that things like "playing in Montreal" and "stress-free" just don't really belong in the same sentence.

If he's as bad he's been for the Stars this year, Habs fanbase will be driving him off the town.

Hs might have pressure. But to do well, for himself, not to win.

I think it's fair to say David Poile's tenure with the Press has been a success, even without winning the Cup. The city has become a great hockey town with a very dedicated fanbase. I think he deserves a lot of credit for that, even though. he's made some very regrettable personnel decisions, especially in recent years.
