What has been the most surprising, not expected at all move near the trade deadline you remember? (doesn't have to be from this year).

For me, it's probably the Mantha for Vrana++ shenanigans. That came so out of the blue.

Dallas trading Patrick Eaves for a first in 2017 was also something I didn't expect, even though he had had a really good year prior to it.

EDM has approximately 450k of cap space.

Bjugstad half retained is 450k.

Well played Holland.

Mantha for vrana has to be the move for me. However this year for me it’s the sandin trade

I wouldn't count that as unexpected, since everyone knew ROR was gonna be sold with STL folding the year.

Yea but nobody expected a 3-way trade with Acciari going with

It was all like ROR for a 1st (50% ret) to Carolina, Boston, or Avs

I dunno, a 3-way trade for the purpose of double retaining was in the realm of expected, it's fairly usual for player with cap hits exceeding 6 mil or so. We've had them a plenty.

It's true that TOR was not the expected frontrunner in these negotiations though.

I mean, Kesselring might be doing good in the AHL but he's meh, i'd see him as a 3rd pair guy maybe, considering how you guys need depth scoring and Bjustad helps solidify your 3rd line ( i'd assume that's where he goes ) i think it's a fair price
