** With Cap Staying Flat = All NHL Teams get [1] Complete Buy-Out of 1- Roster player ~
(Salary is still paid to player but The Cap Hit is off the books)

~ Pens select - LHD- Jack Johnson #3 {put on LTIR to show}
___________________________________________________________________________________________

BUFFALO TRADE :
MY THINKING - It would be tough to trade Murr's to BUF & It would prob be tough for BUF to give up on Mittelstadt.

~ IMO Murray would give BUF a Legit #1 until UPL is ready or ready to split time & ZAR is a great bottom 6 guy that has a controlled contract.
+ I really like Mittelstadt's potential still BUT not shore of his value now after a tough yr.
- Even if Mittelstadt needs to start in WBS to get confidence back, we have McCann to fill in at 3C till he is ready?
- Ullmark is an underrated Goalie IMO & just keeps getting better - Steal?
- McCabe is a perfect Penguin type Dman - Bet he would flourish on a good team.
___________________________________________________________________________________________

VEGAS TRADE :
** I KNOW - I KNOW - It may seem like an Unfair Trade at 1st but when u look at both Tuch & Bjugstad they are very very similar players & are both a Trade Risk. [Why I added Conditional Picks in Trade]

~ BOTH - Juggs & Tuch are - only 2 1/2 yrs apart in age / 2" difference in Ht. / both R-Handed / both around 215-220 lbs / both better skaters than they appear to be.
~ BOTH are injury prone tho, w/ Juggs out all this yr, only playing 12-15 gms & Tuch missing 30+ gms this yr, while having a down yr when played.
~ BOTH only hitting 20 Goal mark once [Juggs - 24, 19, 16, 15 Goal seasons] & [Tuch - 20 & 15 Goal seasons]
UPSIDE of EACH is -
Juggs can play C or RW equally as good in Top 9, is more proven over time & only has 1 yr left on contract @ $4.1m
Tuch is 2 1/2 yrs younger [more upside] & is signed long term @ a fair $4.75m per
___________________________________________________________________________________________

MONTREAL TRADE :
~ This mite be a risk trading for a player w/ head issues & Migraines but everything I have read seems that Juulsen is healthy finally & ready to play.
A change of scenery could be good to re-start Juulsen's career & if healthy - Juulsen could be a steal.
___________________________________________________________________________________________

UFA SIGNINGS :
~ LW/RW- M. Granlund #64 - This could be a perfect wing for Sid bc he plays like D. Simon but is 100 X's more skilled. + Zucker gets his former teamate to come to PIT after a down yr in NSH.
~ RHD- M. Bowey #74 [Not Tendered] - Bowey is insurance for Juulsen & his health.

  2. Mittelstadt, Casey [RFA Rights]
  3. Ullmark, Linus [RFA Rights]
  4. 2020 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
~ After a down yr, I'm still a big Mittelstadt fan & see him as a strong Future 2nd to 3rd Line Center. PLUS - Learning from 87 & 71 wouldn't hurt?
~ Also a big Ullmark fan & on a better team he could be a great 1B Goalie.
~ McCabe seems like a Penguin type D-man.
~ Moving up 3 Rds & getting a 2nd Rdr would be big in picking up another decent prospect in upcoming draft.
BUF
  1. Aston-Reese, Zach
  2. Murray, Matt [RFA Rights]
  3. 2020 5th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Value of Trade is "IF"....

Additional Details:
*CONDITIONAL - 22'- 3rd Rdr*
ONLY IF : Tuch plays under 80% of Regular season [under 66 games] in the 20'-21' [OR] the 21'-22' Seasons.
_________________________________

~ TUCK is a solid player that I really like but he is kind of a risk w/ a long term contract, only 2 1/2yrs younger than Bjugstad but w/ only 1 decent season of ok production, was hurt for most of last season, playing in 42 gms but only having 17 Points.
VGK
  1. Bjugstad, Nick
  2. Rodrigues, Evan [RFA Rights]
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (PIT)

- Bjugstad is still a very good player that can play both Top 9 - Center or RW. "If Healthy" tho.

Ullmark>Murray. The Sabres organization loves Mccabe so they won’t trade him.

Yeah man this is pretty brutal for the sabres.
I would rather take Ullmark as our #1 than Murray. Plus we give up Mitts and a 2nd that's a hard pressing no my guy. Plus were retaining on mccabe?
like at least gives us some value back to us lol. like ZAR to play on the 4th line no thanks.

I just see every BUF armchair GM trading McCabe? And never got it bc I always thought he was good.
Ullmark is a solid 1B type but he isn't in the same league as Murray

I like Mccabe a lot of others don’t he’s not getting traded. Ullmark outperformed Murray by a significant margin this year.
