You see kid passing on Bouchard , behind Larsson and Russell ? plus Benning standing in his way.....cause Brown jumps on EDM 2#RW immediately....

My feeling is that Ceci is brought in Toronto to stay. Then there would be one other 'big' move for Dubas to make it just work, I think.

First, I think the Zaitsev to Ottawa rumour is nonsense. I just can't see Sens take Zaitsev for five years. The trade for Hamjarlmarsson....its costs the Leaf Zaitsev, 2 seconds and a third. It's 2019, I would rather keep Zaitsev. If Bear is NHL competent, I don't see the Oilers trading him for Brown. Spezza for 1m and Engall in the NHL in October.....that's optimistic.

If their plan is to rely on Ceci as Zaitsev substitute, that would be very disappointing....

Well looks like it is not nonsense, McKenzie is reporting that the trade is already in place and will be completed July 1st when zaitsev’s bonus is paid.

I don’t hate on ceci quite as much as everyone else. I just hope he isn’t signed long term. The eye test wasn’t horrible on him last year. I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

I think Hjalmarsson better days are gone, he gave them to Chicago. Want no part of him.

I really hope this doesn't come true!
@Laudan, buddy did you wish this on the Leafs lol...kidding!
On a serious note, if Ceci is Zaitsev's replacement then people are very quickly going to find out how good Zaitsev really has been.

For sure they are but let me break down what i did here :

Kadri and CGY trade is the one im running here for quite same time ( will demand tantiems from ppl copying and kissing my hand online from you guys if it really happens ), for the price of Kadri i brought in two players, shutdown D and a 4y younger Kadri ( statwise ) Damn, just noticed i skipped Jankowski this time but ok, can tweak to bring him in

Same goes with Bear, just filling 3rd Pair till next year when hopefully Sandin and Liljegren fill in

Spezza is optional, @jamiepo came with idea that i like so i included that ( we can fish Cousins or someone else "pulling an Ennis" for this year from FA )

And now the main one, proly overpaid a bit ( again ) if you read what @palhal said what Hjalmarsson cost is in that trade but :

30y old hitting-like-a-train Muzzin with 1 ring was already brought in, maturity, grit and prudence for that locker room kindergarten at 24,4y average

aaaaan now Hjalmarsson, 32y hitting machine and shutdown D with 3 rings and playoff expiriences. Dont tell me that part of psihological and physical isnt desired at the current Team TML has. Is he out of his prime ? Proly. Is he something that we lack ? You bet.

You need some old farts in Team to run the things and to show those million kids what working ethic is off the ice and to give them the needed security when its 3 : 2 in last three minutes of the game and opponent is bringing extra player on ice.....if we will run youngsters only, they will scramble in panic......

I believe Kadri alone with pick can land you Jankowski and Hamonic. While Jankowski will be 3M next year same as Bennett will, that means it still leaves you Ceci in the hand either for further trade either to keep him, which is doable if he will sign for 4,5M shortterm. I stick with Hjalmarsson. Imagine him and Muzzin throwing those Bs around in first round.

About Hjalmarsson, while he was with Chicago he was great and to a certain extent I'm sure he still is but at 32 years of age and the mileage he's racked up...I'm bit worried he doesn't have much to give now.

Especially if he's asked to play any more than 3rd pairing minutes.

Laudan. You're like my ex wife....You remember all my mistakesConfused .

I'm so surprised the Leafs could offload Zaitsev.....great for Leafs. And Spezza, I was more surprised that he would consider playing again for just 700,000 especially returning "home". But as a ex Leaf he will able to get free tickets to Leaf games the rest of his life. A fine signing by Dubas, doesn't cost the Leafs any cap even if he doesn't play. And a fine call by Laudan, or I should calling him Mr. Laudan.

Now the Barrie/kerfoot and Kadri/Rosen Trade... dubas is quickly become a July 1st legend. I am blown away.
