Lundell gone at 9th or WPG draft him at 10 and doesn't do the trade with MTL

Lundell is still 1-2 year easy from
Having a good impact to play 2C for the Jets . Danault is in prime time .

So Danault > 10th OA
That's what I think too
Stomper why is 10th OA would be more valuable than a solid 2C coming with a decent extension ?

Listen hes good , I'm sure Winnipeg would like having him hes a responsible pass first center, but I think you can do it without giving up the pick. He's real good defensively and a good playmaker but he isnt ever going to score alot.

I wouldn't trade Danault this summer, even if the 10 ovr is very tempting, especially this year. Danault is a safe bet if Suzuki or KK struggle a little this year. If we want to make sure we're not in the buttom of the league, we mustn't put all our eggs in the same basket and hoping Suzuki and KK will do 60-70pts this year. I would look more at the TDL (if we still want to trade him), where his value will be even better, and get a very high pick next year or a pick and a A/A+ prospect.

But they have nothing interesting outside that 10th OA, we don't need LHD anymore so no Heinola Samberg …

Laine, scheifele, connor, ehlers. They don’t need scorers. They need a responsible 2-way c who wins face offs. You need to give up 10.

WPG must add... Even though I find it very unlikely for MB to trade Danault.

Mantha would be great but not at the cost of both the 10th OA and Primeau for instance.

Also, trading Tatar for a bust and a late first isnt worth it imo.

Heres what Id do :

Domi and 16th OA to MIN for Boldy and 9th OA

9th OA, Alzner, Mete and Poehling for Mantha

As for Tatar, I wouldnt move him for less than what TOR got for Kap. NAS would be a great fit imo. For their 2021 first (top 3 protect and hope they have a bad season) or 11th OA if they feel like it.

Finally, a cap dump trade in which we would acquire an extra first rounder in 2021 (Eriksson, Steen?).

Danault with an extension will be worth way more than as a rental

In answer to what Montreal would need to add to get Mantha. One of the guys listed as untouchable. Detroit has no reason to make that move without them. No matter how much Mete + a 2nd gets played up by Habs fans.

I personally think the Jets trade is good for both teams but Id rather keep it then trade for mantha

I am not sold on how a player with similar career numbers over the same time period and is the same age as Domi is somehow a major upgrade so much so that it requires us to give up a 1st + Suzuki, Caufield, Romanov or Kotkaniemi! It just doesn't make sense.

I made 2 lists, the list on the left are players/picks available to add with the 10th OA and the list on the right side are players untouchable
More clear ?

You are the lists are clear it was the wording of your post that made it confusing. It's not about value you are trying to convince a team to trade a player they like and have no intention of trading. What about that is so hard to understand?

You might walk away with Quinn and Jarvis or Quinn and Holloway. That is so worth it. Now I understand that keeping him in case kk and Suzuki struggle, but that’s a chance you have to take when a talent like Quinn at 10 is available.

You Americans are something else. Every players can be trade for a price, you can say that the 10th OA + every players/picks listed on the left side is not enough for DET to trade Mantha. We can switch to French if you can't understand me, at least I AM doing an effort to write in another language

Jets not trading 10th overall, there record of drafting 17th pick or higher is running at a 80 percent clip, of being a key contributer within 18 months and also erases a protection spot from roslovic/hansen/copp, not to say that’s a huge factor but it is a factor.

As a jets fan I’m 100% good with this trade and would even add Vesalainen if needed as long as he agrees to sign an extension

I'm principally confident that there will be very good competition in the Eastern Association. Tampa and Boston secure 2 spots. There's one available + wild card. Toronto, Florida and MTL will be fighting for that last spot. Wild card will be real hard to reach if next season is played like this year (with the Metropolitain being so stacked). I'm optimist, but carfull. It's highly possible that we won't be in the playoffs next year. It will depend on how Suzuki (2nd season) and KK will perform.

Danault could do as Pageau and sign an agreement before the trade.

If Danault really become available, he'll be the best Center available this summer. A lot of team are in need of a 2C and WPG make so much senses. Danault would play top6, like he wants, Winnipeg gets their 2C to play with Laine and Ehlers, Bergevin and Cheveldayoff are good friends, sending Danault in the other conference makes senses, everything

I mean if Lundell isn’t there I don’t see why you don’t at least consider this. Danault is exactly the type of player we have been needing for years and we don’t need Sanderson or a winger at this spot. It’s either reach for a player at 10, trade it for a very good player like Danault or trade down.

I didn't say anything about the mantha trade and im sorry you disagree. If I'm Winnipeg I'm not giving 10th overall for danault. You want next years 1st lottery protected with Vesalainen for him sure. Tenth in this draft is like top 5 most other drafts.

Questionable logic on that one, some players are put on a pedestal and the coach or gm are basically staking there jobs in there cities on these guys developing into the franchise. There is always a narrative like a politician with the fanbase, and some would stick to that narrative through there tenure. That’s where the new gm and 5 yr plan comes out and pleads patience and buying time. Trust the process. How’s that for a ramble and spiel lol

I was quoting aedoran but WPG doesn't need Sanderson Quinn Jarvis etc at 10 IF Lundell is gone. So they need to trade that pick and there is no other better option than Danault on the market ( Danault isn't officially on the market tho )

Not here to start a debate, but sometimes seem that DET fans think Montreal NEEDS Mantha, and that they would be ready to offer their whole team for him. Now, every single offer is the worst they have ever seen. We could get way better player than Mantha if we trade someone like Caufield...
