  1. 2021 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Knowing that the Devils won't have a lot of right shot RDs, these are some people I came up with.

Do you think Elliotte Friedman thought of somebody like Jamie Drysdale ...
2.

    Or Adam Boqvist ...
    3.

      Or Evan Bouchard?
      4.

I know Columbus really wants to trade Seth Jones but at this point in time for the Devils, acquiring Seth Jones wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.

Personally I don’t think they’ll move it unless Luke Hughes is taken before that.

If you’re moving number 4 you’re looking for a young proven dman. I would honestly call Airzona about Jakob Chychurun and you could have a strong left side with Smith, Chychurun, and Butcher

Nah, Adam Boqvist showed an elite offensive game throughout some parts of the season and he’s been improving his defensive game. I’d rather keep him and let him grow to his full potential.

I just don’t think it makes sense to move Drysdale or Bouchard (those teams need young RD and I prefer both over Clarke). Jones and Dumba are probably a little old. I think I’d prefer 4th over Boqvist. There might be the possibility that they trade down a bit for a decent D rather than aiming for a high end one.

Grans or Faber + 8oa? LA could move up to snag one of Hughes/Edvinsson, they’ve long expressed interest in adding a high end young LD, Grans and Faber are both decent prospects, both right shot D, and NJD is still in position to take a guy like Johnson at 8.

Lundkvist + 15oa? High end young RD that’s pretty close to NHL ready, he’s expendable for the Rangers because of Fox/Trouba/Schneider, and they may also want a high end LD to round out the left side (they’ve got Miller and not much else, Lindgren’s okay but you probably want someone better when you’re competing). Becomes much more appealing for the Rangers if Beniers slips to 4 somehow. They might even take McTavish.

The thing about the New Jersey Devils next season is that they won't have a lot of right-shot RDs to write home about.

The only right shot defenseman that is featured in that ACGM post is Adam Boqvist.

Looking at the big scheme of things, I'm of the opinion that the Devils should just draft Luke Hughes or Brandt Clarke at 4th overall.

I also think it would be helpful if Elliotte Friedman gave some examples in his blog post as well.

If cap is an issue, I wonder if Cal Foote of Tampa is an option. He's 22, his brother plays for Tampa. I would even think Tampa might add in a trade

Adam Boqvist has played less than 82 games, and has put up 30 points that’s not bad for player that isn’t fully developed. Again he’s shown an elite offense game, so I’d rather trade for a reliable LD that can play alone side with him and help his game grow.

I could see Fabbro + 18oa as well. I guess it depends how much NJD likes guys like Chibrikov or L’Heureux, because it’s either a slightly lower end LW at 15/18 plus a higher end young RD, or a lower end RD in Faber/Grans, but a higher end LW in Johnson.

I think Cal Foote would make sense as a target but not for 4th overall. Tampa would have to add something pretty significant. If NJ has interest in Palat, Killorn, Gourde then it could make sense but I think all of those guys are too old for the fit in NJ.

Could potentially get Ceulmans at 18 who is a RHD. Then all of a sudden you have Fabbro and Ceulmans in the system for the right side and things don't look so bleak anymore.

Why does every team have rumours while Dallas only has Blake Comeau’s signing going for them?

maybe dallas fans are lucky enough to not have idiots delivering fake news?

I don’t think the Rangers would move Lundkvist straight up for #4. They’ve invested a lot of time and think very highly of him, plus this draft’s top talents (at least the ones around at 4) have a lesser star probability per Byron Bader’s model.

That goes before mentioning that I doubt either team could stomach trading such a valuable asset to the other
