Easily a top 5 prospect in the system, three seasons at UMASS did him well. By the end of the season Morrow should play a few games while guys rest, gotta think he's the Pesce replacement for next season. Finally happy to see Morrow signed, especially after Friedman said teams were trying to trade for his rights, but he's a hurricane and hopefully for a while to come. So much offense and flash, as well with his defense progressing this season in his junior year.

It will be really interesting to see how Carolina's roster construction for the right side of their D comes together for next season. With Burns age 39-40 next year and on his last year of contract, Pesce a UFA, Chatfield a UFA and taking a step, DeAngelo assuredly gone, and now signing Morrow on a pro deal but no AHL team to send him to (at least for now) things are certainly interesting for the Canes.

Great signing...there was a question of whether he would sign or not after last year's attempt and Carolina losing their AHL team this year.
Good chance we see him in NHL soon (in DeAngelo's spot next year, I'd guess).

great prospect, not anywhere close to what caniac's propaganda would say (that narrative is one of the biggest skull emoji moments on this whole site), but still gonna be a darn good top 4 guy

He's gonna be a top-4 guy but he isn't gonna be a norris contender or anything

this is huge, but it feels like Canes wasted the year of his contract, should've signed him for 3 years in 24/25

Pretty sure if we signed him like that it would only be a 2 year elc due to his age, so why not sign him for the rest of this season, and maybe get into a game or too.

Wasn't a narrative, he had a better freshman year than Makar did, that is still a fact. I've said multiple times he's not going to be as good as Makar. But you go ahead and say what you want.

Slavin Morrow second pairing is going to go hard for a long time

I mean, he's already torched all of Makar's college records...

he's 22 in November so it would be a 3-year contract too if he signed before November, imo signing him this season is a waste, I doubt it that he will play a big role this season. Sure he will skate with a team but I don't see a point in that

Well this explains a lot, didn't really know this was a thing, kinda scary that we could've lost him for nothing.

I have a question. How many games will it take to eat up the first year of his deal? Would it be if he plays at all?

No slide on a deal signed later after NCAA like this. The first year is this year no matter what.
