lmao you're going to be highly disappointed if you think you're even remotely close... just for that, Armia and a 3rd or kick rocks.

I’d love to have Necas, but I’m not on board with handicapping our hopeful center depth after finally building some.

Maybe if you dropped Kasper, switched the 2nd to our 2024 1st, and threw in a prospect like Wallinder?

I know that probably doesnt do it for Carolina, but I don’t think Yzerman is moving Danielson or Kasper unless it’s for a current top 6 center.

ROFLMFAO, that was a goof joke!

Now seriously, what would you pay for a winger who averages 55 points a year over his entire career (even when you account for his 71 point outlier season) cause if it's more than a 1st + 3rd you are out of your mind!

Lol, take out Carlo and Zacha, Boston does not do either 1 for 1. FFS. Add Lysell and a mid to late pick.

So you would pay Raymond or Larkin (half retained) + the Wings 1st + Cossa for Necas? You are bent too if you would do that trade

Obviously these trades are terrible, but just wondering if any serious canes fans in this thread could explain if/why Necas would be available

          Are you dense?

Calling out your bull**** of relegating Necas to a 50 point winger does not automatically mean he’s worth that absurd ****. Get a grip.

          Detroit isn't doing that.

But why would Carolina trade Necas?

Every team passes, Necas holds out half the year, and eventually signs a 1-year deal to walk to free agency and leaves without return.

Obviously these trades are terrible, but just wondering if any serious canes fans in this thread could explain if/why Necas would be available

He would only be available if they can't resign him. They have about 30 mil cap space with Pesce, Skeji , Jarvis, Teravainen, Guntzel, Necas all to resign, that will be a tough job without moving one or two of them and they have to sign the 2 D cause as it stands they only have 3 D signed for next year

          Detroit isn't doing that.

But why would Carolina trade Necas?

They've gotta do some cap shuffling, I think. But the rumor came about during the deadline that he was "On the block". That was conveniently around the same time that Carolina was working a trade for Pettersson... People apparently can't read between the lines on that one lol.

Yikes, Necas is worth a lot, but my goodness you have oversold him here.

I would say yes, absolutely. That's cheaper than buying Skinner out, and I wouldn't miss jokiharju or Krebs. Necas coming too would just be a bonus.

So is Caufield only worth a 1st and 3rd in your mind then?

A high 1st (5-10 ova) + 3rd is likely his value on the open market but he holds more value to the Habs than his open market value, so he is unlikely to be traded. Necas is an RFA with 1 year of team control and arbitration rights who will likely get a 1 year 7 mil contract if he goes to arbitration. Then he can walk in FA, that will scare a lot of teams off him and decrease his overall market value. Add to all that that Carolina needs to sign no less than 8 roster players with Jarvis, Teravainen, Pesce and Skeji all included the Canes will be hard pressed to sign everyone.

Would you pay Lindholm + Lekkerimaki + 2nd for Caufield?

Caufield is younger and has significantly more production than necas had at that age

They don’t want to pay his next contract/cap.

Buffalo probably accepts but the rest of these trades are completely out to lunch... Egregious overpays. Are you sure you're not a Sabres fan?
