hello! friendly neighborhood mod here (though i haven't been around the neighborhood much for a while; life, work, mental health issues, and the like have gotten in the way).
quick reminder, from the Forums Rules, "Removal of Posts" section:
Quote:
Posts that are sexist, racist, ethnic, gender related, homophobic, malicious, illegal, or in any way discriminatory or hurtful to anyone will not be tolerated. We have the authority to remove such posts immediately in our sole discretion. Such posts will receive 5 infraction points.
not that anybody is currently in trouble, but it's worth re-establishing for newer forum users, especially on a thread as likely to be a hot-button topic as this is.
i thought this guy had his draft rights rescinded no?
I remember when he was drafted the commentators said players cant “drop out” of the draft. He asked not to be drafted but officially he had no power to withdraw.
Why can’t people make mistakes, learn, grow, and change and be accepted for it?
One can but one has to show the appropriate acknowledgement, willingness to accept fault, accept the punishment, and prove to themselves and necessary/appropriate others that they can and are changing via the appropriate work and rehabilitation.
I am no special arbiter but I haven't seen that. Above and beyond all else, everything I've seen has been about him out of his mouth.

Not saying he can’t but the damage is done for his victim. No matter what consequence or restitution he received/did, she’s affected forever and he’s going to prosper.
Grow up people, dude paid his due to the court and has gone extra lengths under the Canadiens supervision than what he was sentenced for. If he would've been a recidivist I'd stand differently on the topic but stop trying to cancel him for one mistake, it won't happen.

Let's go Logan!
OJ Simpson paid his dues to the court too. It's just one mistake, it won't happen again.
