The exact contract I was hoping for. Happy to see Kubalik traded away, not happy about giving up a 1st but a good overall transaction.

I swear Yzerman has a split personality. How does the man who gave Chiarot and Holl a combined 7.8 mil get DeBrincat at the same dollar amount?

Really great deal for the Wings and DeBrincat. Still one big pay day left for DeBrincat at the end of this thing

Quite possibly the move that the Red Wings needed to balance the scales with Senators for the playoff chase. Puts pressure on Buffalo now too. Whichever of those 3 teams that get above average goaltending for 80% of the season could take it.

The Tarasenko sweepstakes just got more heated.

I think Yzerman did brilliantly.

You get Cat at under 8M for what will likely be his most productive years. Let someone else pay him for 8 years when this contract is done.
