A FIFTH?!!! THAT'S IT?!!! Plus, another useless contract. GMBG, I'm begging you. Please start working the phones a little harder when trading players.

You're the Edmonton Oilers.Jesper Wallstedt is on the board.Instead you trade with MIN and get a 3rd to go from 19th to 21st overall.MIN takes Jesper Wallstedt. You sign Jack Campbell instead.Waive him a year later.Jesper Wallstedt named AHL player of the week at 20.

might have been much better off moving him this summer when people thought he would be more expensive and better offensively... hard to believe his value dropped this much this fast

IMO, a fair deal for Calen Addison would be either a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Given Addison's offensive upside as an NHL defenseman and his cheap contract.

I'd also add that in recent years, worse defensemen than Addison have been traded for more than what Minnesota is getting here.

It appears that Minnesota sold themselves short on Addison.

San Jose wins the trade.

Can’t get the Ws on the ice, so Grier’s gotta do it himself.

Wonder if Sharks will be like: just go do your best Erik Karlsson impression and don't worry about defense: we don't play that around here.

Wait, does this mean the Sharks might have a defenseman who knows how to get the puck out of the defensive zone?

I'd guess those worse defensemen that got traded for more either could play defense, or had a history of performing at the NHL level. Addison just really hasn't shown the ability to do either. Sure, upside is there, but upside has to become a reality at some point.

Im going to miss Raska, kinda bummed he was moved but a great deal for San Jose.
Raska could easily be a 4th line banger soon.

The org hoped Gawanke would provide offense from the blue line but it was clear he couldn't play defense worth a damn.

Raska is a quality pest who definitely needed a change of scenery. It's not a total L for Minnesota. He's certainly AHL quality only but can still fill in lite NHL duty.

Coach hated Addison so it was time for a change of scenery. As he never got their trust and often played very sheltered mins.

Also there was some stuff with Spurgeon but meh thats probs a misunderstanding

Its for the best

Addison is still young at Age 23 and has plenty of time left in his career to turn his game around.

With Spurgeon and Goligoski on LTIR, this simply isn't a trade worth making for Minnesota.

Thats a fleece. Addison is a great player and will get much better has he ages. I watched him in Brandon in the WHL and he was great. Sharks get a Huge W when they need it the most.

I'm going against public opinion here, and I'm saying since Minnesota's had Spurgeon, but he's been sidelined. Bringing in Bogosian, for losing Addison?

Had to be some sort of locker room issue to make this happen, and then for Minnesota to turn around and acquire Bogosian from Tampa.

He still has very real top pairing PP quarterback potential. He's no Erik Karlsson but I can see him being a Dan Boyle type in the next year or so. This is huge because he can be a multi year re-sign and if reaching his potential this is potentially a massive steal for Grier.
