At least he’ll get to play with Huberdeau as a consolation prize.

Coronato is going to be so fun to watch in these next few years.

Adding on top of that; the US is looking scary good. Worried for Canada - idk it’s coming down to again the US look like a group with some chemistry. Canadas game against Finland is going to be an important test tonight.

It’s all in the quality of service the college, USHL, USNTDP etc etc put in. They clearly have been exploding in the last few years (through draft classes and high draft selections/ rankings).

They’re really doing special work.

Canada just seems like a group of super talents slapped together with a little chemistry here and there.

But the US guys are just fun to watch. This was a great thread.

Arizona deserves to draft him. It would be a shame if the draft is rigged and Chicago wins the lottery

Absolutely love this kid. Pesky to a fault, and sick dangles to boot. No fear there in attacking the 1-on-2, and outworking them to slide the puck across to Foerster for the tap-in (he did well to beat his man, his play the last two games has caused him to grow on me more as well, I liked him in his draft year but I’ve been down on him for a while, hopefully he stays healthy and uses this to start a bounceback). Anyway Greig is an animal. Probably Canada’s 4th best forward so far in the tournament, he’s very noticeable every shift I’ve been able to watch.

Greig should centre Stankoven and Johnson. I’d like to see Stanky at the wing considering he’s not playing as good as I expected him to.

Probably McTavish, Bedard, Othmann, Greig, and then either Foerster or Johnson. I think Johnson’s been a little unlucky, but he still only has the one goal (with the looks he’s gotten and his skill level he should honestly have 4 or 5). Foerster has impressed the last couple of games for sure. I think 4 is probably the cut off for me right now though as far as guys I’ve found particularly impressive, but the whole top 9 has been good.

I feel like Stankoven is be in the same boat as Johnson, but he hasn’t produced like him, so it’s a little disappointing.

I know he has it in him, he played as good as McTavish and Bedard in Juniors, but something just isn’t going for him for some reason. I’m hoping he solves that before the medal rounds.

Honestly for forwards, I’m really impressed with McTavish, Bedard, Greig, I’m impressed with Roy, Forester, Othmann, Dufour, I’m a little disappointed in Johnson and Stankoven because I know they can do better than this. Cuylle and that other Sens guy are alright, and Desnoyers plus Gaucher are dead.

Sens fans aren’t going to trade Greig 1 for 1 for Chychrun at this point.

Hell of a PK shift - hell of a tourney.

Forester Started slow but he's picking it up. He's not as good a Skater as the rest but he works hard.

If Ralfs Bergmanis gets like, 1 or 2 points in a close QF loss, do you think that’ll be enough to get him the 2nd all-tournament D slot? He’s currently tied for 4th in D scoring (Andrae has 7, Zellweger and Hughes have 6, Puutio and Cormier have 5 like Bergmanis). I think it’s still fairly wide open. I thought that if there was any debate at this point it would be which 2 of Hughes, Niemela, and Edvinsson would take it, but Niemela and Edvinsson just haven’t had the production so far, despite eating a lot of minutes. Right now I’d say the favourites are probably Hughes and Andrae, and it helps that they all very likely have 3 more games rather than 1, but I wonder if there’s something to be said for Bergmanis leading Latvia to their first QF appearance ever with a natural hat trick from the blueline (including the game winner) in their only ever preliminary round win.

Edit: He also leads the tournament in ATOI with 25 minutes per game even. Second place is Szuber with 23:04.

Just watched the Finland-Canada game and Aleksi Heimosalmi reminds me so much of Tony DeAngelo walking the blueline with all of his shoulder fakes and his decision-making.

I want Hawks to win the lottery, only for the pick to be forfeited due to the bullsh*t they've been part of in the past decade.

Hopefully his decision making is better than DeAngelo's
