I likes this for both teams, Dallas saves some $$$ and gets the currently better player points wise at least, Montreal gets a player who could really use a change of scenery

DG has been rough in Dallas for awhile now after showing some promise before.

I suppose this is better than a mid pick though. Either way just a meh trade that kind of makes sense for both teams I think

Intrigued to see what Gurianov can do on an other team and in an other context

I doubted Hughes could find a buyer for Dadonov. He didnt click with anyone with MTL.

I take this flyer on Gurianov for Dadonov rather a mid-late pick anytime

Like this for MTL, They get a young player who can either become something or not and this trade still not be an L.

Dallas shouldve aimed their sights higher imo, c'mon go for the cup.

Taking a flier on a young guy is a good gamble for MTL, I like it

I don't love it, I don't hate it either. Denis has been dreadful this year and there was a strong chance he wouldn't be retained next year anyway. Dadonov hasn't been much better but has shown he can produce. Rick Bowness totally ruined Gurianov, too bad because he could have been a great top 6 goal scorer.

Nill saves himself a headache of likely dealing with Gurianov and his arbitration rights.

I think this is a steal for Montreal. Really like Gurianov. I think hes a fast, playmaking forward that is really underrated. Sure he's having an off year but I think he'll bounce back,

Gurianov has been straight trash this year, but there's potential there. Had an amazing playoff run with Dallas a few years ago, hopefully Montreal can help him reach that potential again.

Dadonov is wildly inconsistent, but should be able to help Dallas when he's on his game. W for both teams

If we can bring out his potential from even last year, yes. Otherwise we drop him.

As it is, nope and thats the point of the trade ; MTL takes a flyer on him and tells Gurianov "show me if you're worth it"

Eh, Dallas gets a veteran to help their playoff push and moves out someone who needs a change of scenery while Montreal moves a rental out and gets a player they can try to turn into a useful player

We actually got something for Dadonov? I'm impressed.

It's a shame we'll never learn what Hughes could have sold Monahan for.

Habs would have traded Dadanov for just about anything but with so many injuries, they needed a return who could actually play out the end of the year. Gurianov is at least healthy

Remember when everyone thought Gurianov was the next big thing in Dallas?

I do and that was a weird time

Galchenyuk, Kapanen, Gurianov, Poolparty, etc.. You can be hyped if you want but they are 13th fowards despite their offensive skills.

The inability of Hughes to get a pick on top makes it a L.

Gurianov is a pending RFA while Dadonov is a pending UFA.

Gurianov is 25 while Dadonov is 33.

Gurianov has no trade protection while Dadonov has a 10 team no trade list.

Gurianov is due to be paid 2.9 million in salary while Dadonov is due to be paid 6.5 million in salary.

Gurianov has 1 successful playoff run in his career while Dadonov has 0.

Guiranov is a former first round pick while Dadonov was traded for an LTIR placement last summer.

This is not a fair deal for Dallas.

Montreal wins the trade.
