This is laughably bad for the Senators, they couldn't even pry a decent prospect out of Florida. I get that the trade protection on Tarasenkos deal allowed him to dictate where he went, but that doesn't change the fact that this trade is horrible. For crying out loud, Anthony Mantha cost the Knights more than this.

This is highway robbery for the Panthers who add another lethal offensive weapon to their already loaded forward group. At only 2.5m, he is going to be extremely valuable. If they want to buy more, they easily could (granted they don't have the money). This was a masterclass of a trade from Zito and a complete blunder by Staios

Considering how many posts there were saying Tarrasenko was gonna get Ottawa a first, easy win for the Panthers.

This will be the biggest fleece job of this year's TDL.

Comically bad trade. The Senators should've considered just not moving Tarasenko at all if they were wedged into this kind of return.

Florida wins though I feel bad for Ottawa, they've been shafted so much this year, Pinto suspension, losing a first due to Dadonov shenanigans and now Senko only waiving for 1 team has cost you a chance to get significantly better assets

On one hand the return is terrible, but on the other the Sens did what they wanted: Turned money into futures without having to spend futures of their own. The return is just not what they were looking for, so still a landslide win for the cats.

Why would you trade Tarasenko for so little return on Wednesday, when you can wait 2 days and maybe see the market shift in your favor? Its not like Ottawa was going to get less for him on Friday...just an epically stupid trade by Ottawa. And frankly, Vegas is also a loser here, given they gave up more for Mantha...

Wow...a 4th seems standard to retain salary (50%) for the rest of the season...so that's a 3rd for Tarasenko. Yeah, with a condition that improves the 4th to a 3rd in 2025, but also make the other 3rd pick the worst in the round.

Unless Tarasenko said I will waive for no one but the Cats, this was down-right awful for the Sens.
