The money is reasonable, but still a bit high. AND FOR 7 YEARS?! NHL GMs must be masochists since they keep shooting themselves in the foot. Anyone who thinks this is good has played way too much GM mode.
This is Washington way. With the cap always going up teams are starting to bet that they can get value at the end of the term. I don't know how I feel about this
Great AAV tbh. Term isn't too bad as he's fairly decent and still 25. If he gets 40-45 points in even just one of those 7 years, this is really good value. Cap should be way higher in 7 years.
For comparison, Tanev got 3.5 x 6 w/ a modified NTC and Sissons was even more productive.

Tanev better score at least 15 goals a year because that contract is literal trash.
I'd take Sissons at 2.8 for an extra year any day of the week over Tanev @ 6 years.

Shut up with that non-sense. This kid is getting good and will only get better. That term with that aav is unbelievable.
If they’re getting a 30 point player locked up at this number until he’s 32, that’s a steal. He’s young enough that this term isn’t going to really hurt the Preds, and his AAV is low enough that this is gonna be next to nothing by the time it’s up
Colton is one of the most underrated players in the league... Can play in every position, every situation and still is getting better. This is a very nice contract. He will be 32 when it expires, that isn't very bad.
