It’s a one year deal but it’s still a bad contract.

He’s usually one of the worst players on the ice for the Sabres every single game. They should’ve just let him walk.

Great defensive impact but leaves a lot to be desired offensively. Only 1 year so doesn’t really hurt though albeit a bit rich for a 4th liner

One roster spot less for prospects to fight for. Hope they sign Jost and move Olofsson in a trade...

I had preferred to give the prospects a chance.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that his name is worth 1.5 M annually itself. So really Buffalo is only paying the player 1 M.

Y'all know nothing about Girgensons. He's key to our team, excellent leader on and off the ice. Works his butt off every shift. Very good defensively and occasionally chips in some offense. How people think a 1 year 2.5 mil contract to a consistent 4th line guy is a bad contract I dont know.

Because on a contending team, you shouldn’t be paying your 4c 2.5mil, there are better uses of your cap space, for Buffalo, this deal is fine but a team like Tampa or other giving this deal would be bad

I know a lot about him. You don't overpay the fourth line. The hab fan is spot on.

Its one year brother, its not a big deal. He's an effective player and important to our team. Heck we could have given him 6 mil and it wouldn't matter. Its up by the end of the season
