Maroon wanted term. Guessing he didn't get offered a contract with one, so he took a cheap one year deal for a great team (in a state with no income tax). Low risk signing for Tampa
Tampa get a good depth guy for Cheap.... where have I heard this???? Hmm.... didn't they sign some D man from the rangers for next to nothing, and some backup goalie from Carolina for cheap?
Wow I really didn’t think JBB wasn’t gonna be a great GM but so far I’m impressed. Especially if the rumors that Point will sign 8 yearsx8.5 AAV. Makes Kevin Hayes look like an albatross contract already.
I know this was a joke, but actually, having someone like Maroon on our third line or something would have made a huge difference in that first round, where CBJ was completely taking advantage of our lack of size.

Columbus was taking advantage of you not having hedman, and you taking your Foote off the gas late in the season.

True, but wasn't that supposed to be the point of last year's contract w/ STL? If he can't get a multi year contract now after winning the Cup he's never getting one.
Tampa's offseason philosophy "take a flyer on a guy" shat & Pat
Be interesting if Shattenkirk does well, and Tampa is able to sign him cheap next year for let's say 4m....and Rangers have a 6m cap hit for Shattenkirk.

Impossible to even think about it. We'll have to re-sign Cirelli, Cernak, Sergachev and eventually Joseph too + Vas contract will kick in. We'll be VERY tight on cap space just by re-signing 2 to 3 of our RFAs
