You guys are so spoiled in Tampa. I don't know the gm keeps getting people signed below market. Market value would likely have been 6ish
No way; 6ish? You've got to be kidding me especially in a flat cap world for the foreseeable. Let the kid at least put up 50 points or 20 goals in a season before paying him 6ish.
In a flat cap world for the foreseeable future, this is a bit high.

Compare him to say Barkov who signed his extension in January of his third season. (not after the season). They had similar scoring numbers, Barkov was on his way to being 6th in Selke voting. Cirelli has been 7th and 4th.
Barkov got 8.1% which would be about 6.5 mil
Around 7% which is about 6 mil are guys like Trochek, Zibenejad (before he broke out), Schmaltz, etc

1) Again, that is all before Covid hit and what the NHL is now saying there will be a flat cap for the foreseeable future in your comparisons.
2) Schmaltz is also pretty overpaid.
3) Barkov is world's better on a worse team then Cirelli even in his 3rd season
