With all of our current winger injuries, I'm sure Kovalchuk will be a good 3rd line winger. Don't see a fit when everyone comes back though. Might be able to flip him for a pick at the TD
Clearly Bergevin still thinks his team is a legit playoff contender. The top 3 in the Atlantic is gonna be tough to crack. Maybe they can sneak past the Flyers for the 8 spot. But they'll need to beat out FLA and CBJ. I don't see it happening. I think the Habs are an 85 point team this season with major changes coming during the summer.
Wow. I think this move is interesting. MTL definitely is trying to shake things up with yesterday's trades ETC. I'd like to see where this goes. I think they can make the playoffs or come really close. If they don't make the playoffs this could be a big summer for Bergevin.

I agree. But I think they could make it this year more likely than not.

MTL have 42 pts, 7 points from a playoff spot (Flyers). New Jersey is the second worst team at 36 points, 6 points less than MTL.
MTL are closer to Lafrenière than a playoff spot. It simply tells that Molson put pressure on Bergevin, but with all the injuries, it surprises me that MTL isnt giving up.
If Kovy replaces Weise (or even Weal) I don't mind, but he shouldnt replace a youngster

I really think MTL can pull out of this slump regardless. especially because Philly is having trouble
