But Tampa fans assured me that they had no interest whatsoever in picks being main return for Colton.
But Tampa fans assured me that when compared to, for example, Sharangovich Ross Colton was a way more valuable asset.
Did Bolts fans gaslight CapFriendly users and AGM posters the past 3 months?
My column:
In all honesty, this a fair deal. Pick #37 for a dime a dozen middle six scoring forward with team control is nothing if not a fair return.
I like this for both teams. Will be interesting to see if Brisebois holds on to the pick or flips it for something else.
Could not have asked for better asset management from the Avs so far. We now have a 2C and a 3C; just need another top 6 winger (maybe a veteran signing a cheap deal for a contender like JVR or Pacioretty) but I would not mind one bit if we sent a 1st rounder to Florida to get Duclair.
It's a fair deal for now, but I reserve the right to change that opinion based on the contract Colton signs. Giving up a very early second round pick in a deep draft just to overpaid would be a loss.
Come on people, I like Colton, but he's no top 6 material. 37OA is a high price to pay.
Not saying it's a bad move of Colorado, who had huge needs at center, just that cheap depth players became worth more than expensive top 6 talent in the last 2 weeks.
If this means that Killorn re-signs, then fine—I think that’s a moderately fair trade. If we lose both Killorn and Colton, I feel like that’s just bad asset management (especially if Colton doesn’t go that high and we end up paying Jeannot more than like $1.5m—that would be inexcusable in my eyes).

It ain’t a very deep draft. You’re letting elite talent at the top paint the picture for you. It’s top heavy. The pick being included in 2 trades in less than 24 hours should be telling lol

Fully expect that he will be 3C for us. Great value for a 2nd rounder.
