I like this. Some nice adds and we didn't give up a crazy amount like some other teams did. I see this as a win-win for both teams as good scouting teams can effectively use 2nds to bolster their lineup in the future. Welcome home Gio!

Another 5'9" winger under 200 pounds, he should fit in well with the Leafs

Compared to what defensemen were traded for this week, this is a W for Toronto.

Perfect trade! Especially considering the overpays of late.

I think this trade is a good one for the Leafs, but it's still not enough to get them out of the first round. That 3rd is essentially Dermott. Toronto shouldn't be giving up more futures and still losing grip on Florida, Tampa, and Boston in the Atlantic.

Nice deal all around. Content with keep the first round pick and not having to give up prospects.

That’s a nice price for the Leafs. Gonna suck when they still lose in the first round, but again, good deal.

Love it

Blackwell is a nice guy who can play anywhere in the lineup

Gio is a former Norris + Messier winner

Plus he and brodie were a good pairing in Calgary

And he didnt cost us a 1st.

My guy, 190lbs at 5'9" is a THICC boi.
And he loves to yap.

It seems you've forgotten what it is the height is short form for.

This is a fair deal for both sides.

Seattle getting more picks is going to help them in the long run, while Gio helps Toronto in the short term. Seattle gets decent value for someone who reportedly had one trade destination while Toronto doesn't give up any first rounders or top prospects.

Also Colin Blackwell is here too!!!

I made this post 3 days ago.

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3130116

Based on the benchmarks I set for Ron Francis, he has fallen short.

And why should Giordano + Blackwell get less than Chiarot??

The Leafs win the trade.

Do the folks at Seattle think he's good? Surely not at this point.
